This Filipino kid is quite something, isn’t he? I figured he was sexy enough to run two days in a row.

Noodles are tasty. But can you trust them?
Chalerm has turned into Younger Brother Noodle. When I came home he was at the noodle stand in the soi, selling food to people who passed by. Mother Noodle was sitting at the table, watching him.

It was just a phase
I moved to Bangkok because of the community spirit here. In this city people know their neighbours, everyone says hello to everyone else, and people care. It is much better than in the socially cold, distant Farangland where everyone keep to themselves.

It was the astronomers fault (Reuters)
The International Astronomical Union is to blame for the coup and assorted upheaval in Thailand, say Thai astrologers. The union should have known that they could not strip Pluto of planet status without upsetting the balance of the universe.

A Kota Kinabalu floating village seen from the air (Google Earth)
I never met Azir. He did not respond to my text message and I figured he was busy. What a loss for him, it is not every day a major rice queen from Bangkok is in town.

Ta ta ta! It is 3am Thursday morning and Bangkok has a new bug-eyed airport. At this hour Suvarnabhumi officially takes over for Don Muang. Suvarnabhumi is pronounced Su-wan-na-poom. The “i” at the end is silent. Got it?

Kota Kinabalu dress shop for Muslim girls
I was in the night market in Kota Kinabalu watching a magician performing tricks in front of an all-male audience. The men had formed a circle around him. Why were there no women?

Get your genuine brand jeans here, sir
Something had changed in KK. Authorities had installed bright lights in the park by the fountain, thereby scaring away the timid cruisers that used to sit on the benches in the dark.

Hey you! No photo!
30 days between visa runs is not very long. I had to leave Thailand again.
I told Azir, the guy I met the first time I was in Kota Kinabalu, by text message that I would come to KK. He responded by asking what time I would arrive and I gave him the details.

Chalerm has exams today at Rajapat University. He was afraid of oversleeping and stayed with friends on the Thonburi side of the river to be sure he was on time.
But he had forgotten his school uniform in our apartment and showed up at 2am to get it. Then he fell asleep here. I woke him this morning, urging him to get up and ready, only to be told that his exam was at 3 pm.
Does any of this make sense? I don’t expect it to.

I did not take this picture… it is from the Internet somewhere. Come to think of it I have never done a kiss scene. Maybe I should try?
