168. Duff’s plan
When Duff had returned to his room at the Malaysia Hotel he called Peter Hart, Bia’s boyfriend.
- How is it going? asked Peter.
- I am just back from the Larson expedition.
- You went too?
- Yes. Bia asked me to be his chaperone. He was afraid Larson would make advances.
- Ha ha ha! Somehow I don’t see that happening.
- Well… Larson thinks Bia has a crush on him.
- Ha ha! I don’t see that happening either!
- No. But people have their illusions.
- So did you find the brother? asked Peter.
- We did.
- And he told Larson where Lek is?
- Lek is working in a bar now.
- Oh dear. How did Larson take that piece of news?
- Lek is supposedly a waiter. He doesn’t go with customers.
- Supposedly?
- Yes. But it is a go-go bar.
- I have a bad feeling about where this is heading.
- I do too. But Larson doesn’t think so.
- We shall live and see.
- We shall indeed. But this younger brother Noi is interesting. I am setting up a date with him.
- Uh? Larson is dating both brothers?
- He he, no. Larson is dating Lek. I want to date Noi. He is cute.
- Sounds like trouble!
- Why? Noi is innocent. He is not a moneyboy like Lek.
- You mean not yet?
- Noi doesn’t speak much English, said Duff. - I wanted to ask to borrow Bia again when I meet Noi.
- Sure. Bia seems to like the translator job.
- I think he does. It puts him in the centre of events.
- Yes. If there is anything Bia wants it is attention.
- I will call Noi and ask him out. I would like Bia to call Noi later and confirm in case my English doesn’t get through to him.
- It will be done.
Duff gave Peter Noi’s phone number and finished the conversation. Then Duff rested on the bed while having naughty fantasies about Noi.
