Bangkok novel 2

208 - Jomtien gay section

- Should we take a motorbike taxi? asked Duff.
- It is a bit to walk, said Peter.
- Taxies cost money, said Larson. - Walking is free and it is good for us.
The farangs walked on the footpath behind the beach. They saw palm trees and Thai ladies who gave back massage to farangs who rested on their bellies. Deck chairs in bright colours lined the beach and someone was windsurfing.
- It awfully hot today, said Larson.
- Did you change your mind? asked Duff.
- Of course not. I was just making an observation. I didn’t know it was this far to walk.
- The gay section is hidden away at the end of the beach so the breeders will not be offended by the sight of us, said Duff.
- I hope it is worth the effort, said Larson.
- Here it begins, said Duff.

Several deck chair operators waved and shouted and tried to get the farangs to sit with them.
- I know this place, said Duff. - They provide good service and the Isaan boys who work here are gay.
- Are they available? asked Larson.
- Why do you ask? You are against that sort of thing.
- Only out of curiosity, said Larson.

The trio sat down and waiters brought them a bottle of water each.
- I assume this isn’t free, said Larson.
- It is 20 baht to rent the chair and 20 baht for the water, said Duff.
- I guess I can survive that, said Larson.
- You want anything el? asked the waiter.
- Coffee tea or me? asked Larson.
- You han-sam man, said the waiter and smiled.
- Do you have a boyfriend?
- No have.
- Why not? You are so cute.
- Nobody love me.
- I can love you, said Larson.

- You are not wasting your time, are you? asked Duff.
- Just flirting, said Larson. - He is my type. And I like that he is shirtless. What you see is what you get.
- No sign of Bia, said Peter.
- No sign of Noi either, said Duff.
- Unless… said Peter and held his hand up to shade his eyes from the sun.
- Unless what?
- See those two over there?
- Where? I don’t see anyone.
- Way over there by the trees. Two boys walking towards us.
- I see them. But I can’t see who it is.
- There is something familiar about them, said Peter.
- It can’t be Noi and Bia. If it is them they have changed completely, said Duff.
