A large photo of Larson dominated the front page of the newspaper. Next to it was a smaller photo of Detective Gran. The newspaper read:
Dramatic confrontation in court:
“PEDO-LARSON” WON AGAINST POLICE
Called officers incompetent, suggested cops seeking glory
In a heated exchange yesterday the suspect Pelle Larson, alleged to have had sex with a fourteen-year old boy in Thailand, stared down the prosecution and avoided detention while special branch police investigate him.
Judge Strom ruled that the evidence presented was “not enough” to detain Larson. The judge said a crucial piece of evidence, an arrest photo from Bangkok of Larson and a Thai boy he is alleged to have had sex with for money, does not show a person under 18.
Larson told journalists that justice had prevailed. Detective Gran said the ruling was a temporary setback but that the investigation was on track.
Pelle Larson is believed to have left for Thailand last night.

- They can’t call me names like that, said Larson.
- It could be worse, said Bjorn.
- How could it possibly be worse?
- They didn’t call you sicko, creep, monster or perv.
- Good grief, said Larson.
- Coffee, tea or me? asked Geng.
- Since you are off limts it will have to be tea, said Larson.
- You made a big splash back home, said Bjorn.
- I did?
- You are all over the newspapers today. And I received an email from a friend who wrote you said “bugger off” on television news.
- My fifthteen minutes of fame, said Larson. – But I don’t care. Let them say what they want.
- You should care, said Bjorn.
- Why? It is over.
- Don’t be so sure.
- I am not going back to Sweden. Ever.
- You should take this more seriously.
- If you say so, dear. What do have in mind?
- While you were in the air I kept my ear to the ground, said Bjorn.
- What do you mean?
- I called people in Sweden. I wanted to hear about things.
- What things?
- You are making enemies. I wanted to know what is going on.
- You have contacts in the police?
- I know one guy.
- How do you know him?
- He is not a close friend. But he takes my calls.
- Gay?
- Of course.
- Ah, the bed buddy network. Why are you doing this?
- To save your big broad behind.
- I don’t need saving. I can take care of myself, thank you.
- You always need saving. So, do you want to hear the gossip about Detective Gran or not?
- I am all ears.
- Everyone in the police is talking about Gran. Many are laughing behind his back.
- Oh really?
- Gran was humiliated in court. Not only did he lose, you also called him incompetent. And you said he was seeking glory.
- A fair and balanced assessment.
- Gran doesn’t see it that way. He hates you.
- That’s Gran’s problem. He should go to therapy. Get in touch with his inner child and all that.
- The thing is, you hit a nerve with what you said. Gran is desperate for some success.
- Why?
- Gran volunteered to lead this new unit the police set up a while ago. They call it “Minors Abroad”.
- And it is not going well?
- No. They have leads but it is hard to prove what Swedes have done when they have been out of the country. Gran is going around on conferences and meetings talking about himself, but he doesn’t get any results. It is hurting his career.
- I don’t want to be the one to rescue his career.
- Gran thinks you should be. He is not giving up.
Bjorn had his television on. News presenters talked in rapid Thai while the comings and goings of important people was shown. There were floods, fires, accidents and arrests.
- Who is the woman with the big hair? asked Larson.
- Senator Lalida.
- What is she doing in that brothel?
- Looking for Burmese victims of trafficing. Lalida operates the Foundation For Traditional Thai Values. She does a lot of good deeds. Or at least she makes it look that way in front of the cameras.
- Politicians, said Larson.

I hope one day, your novel is printed, I would queue to buy it, great story!
(My copy would have to have the authors autograph of course!)
Will Larson transcend to the depths again? Will he behave himself under the scrutiny of INTERPOL?
Will he get kicked out of the Malaysia Hotel once and for all…..who knows?

I would also add to the applause surrounding your stories of 1001 Bangkok nights and days. Beneath the humour I sense quite a perceptive interpretation of the lives and actions of the characters. Keep writing please.
