Gay Japan?

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

Hey, nice blog! I have noticed that the greatest lookers are all Japanese here. What am I doing in Thailand? Do you know what Japan is like for a foreigner to live in, or even if its possible? I know they have a super relaxed attitude toward sex and have VERY liberal laws unlike here where everybody seems so uptight lately. Is is that the Japanese don’t accept foreigners so readily? I’m really curious if anyone knows anything about this. I’m more than ready for a change, but I don’t want to jump out of the frying pan into the fire!

Hi. I have done a bit of photography and I should warn you that half the trick to make a boyband star look fab is a skilled photographer, good light and professional makeup. This is where Thai models often fail.

Now to your question about Japan. I have never been there, but maybe a reader can answer.

As I can’t find where to post a communication whic is not relevant to any above subject…I’ll send it here.

I had to laugh tonight, a young Asian gentleman has been courting my interests for the last few days on a website known to most of you (it’s name is a day of the week?!)

    Khun Mike of Tarntawan Hotel

    Tuesday, March 20th, 2007

May I bring to your attention that Khun Mike, Director of the Tarntawan Hotel has passed away suddenly last week.

He was an excellent ambassador for Thailand and was very supportive of the gay community, he will be very sadly missed.

My thoughts are with his daughter and his long time business partner who must feel extreme pressure at this unfortunate time.

I wish them and Khun Mike’s family well and offer them my sincere condolances.

    More original photos please

    Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

Many of us look forward to your picks.  They usually turn out to be beauties, all of them.  Thanks for sharing, even if we are getting “seconds.”But seriously, what happened to your Bangkok Street Photo site?  No new entry since July, 2006.  Your photography is always impressive, tells a story, and helps us see into another world.Could there be less clipping and scanning of magazine photos and more clicking and posting of  Silom Farang’s originals in 2007?-Former Farang

Hi Former. Thanks for your kind words about my photography. I didn’t realise it was that long since I had posted something in Bangkok Street Photo. You are right. I should do something about it. I have a large photo project I work on now, but since it is not related to boys or Asia I am not showing it here. The pictures in that project are from Farangland and they have taken most of my photo time lately. When you request more photos, do you mean Asian boys or do you mean the street/documentary photos that I also do?

    Letter: Solly no change

When I was in Thailand some years ago the largest bill commonly circulating was a 500 baht note, about US$20 at the time. It was a constant problem to keep small change on hand, and no one seemed to have change for a 500 (probably they were hoping I’d let them keep the change). Even taxi drivers would claim to not have 4 100 baht notes to give as change.

So, in case I ever return, I’d like to know where one can get change easily. There must be some type of place that is always accumulating all the small bills. Some kind of shop or something that gets more 10’s and 20’s than anything else.
