Chocolate and shopping

gay-boy-diary.jpg

It is not true that I am addicted to chocolate. I can stop any time if I want to. I had a Mars bar after breakfast, but that was an exception. I didn’t have one yesterday, at least not for breakfast.

I am in control of my chocolate. I am a casual, social chocolate eater. I choc for pleasure. It is not like I am desperate for the stuff. If I want to I can quit tomorrow. Or next Monday. Or next month.

Also, if people claim I am into comfort shopping it isn’t true. It is not like my unexpected visa run to Penang made my feel sorry for myself, sending me to the stores with credit card in hand. Far from it. I can handle this. I am a man.

If you saw me sneak around the camera shops in Komtar, looking at new model digital cameras, please don’t misunderstand. I was there out of professional interest. I need to keep up to date.

If I bought a new Sony this was only because it was a better deal than in Bangkok. If it looked like I could not really afford the Sony this is not so. I can afford it. I just have to ask Chalerm to advertise for sale some old photo gear I hardly use anyway, and which only takes up space.

Don’t worry. I am in control.

I am however disturbed by the fact that the 7-Eleven in Chulia street is out of milk chocolate. How can they allow this to happen? Don’t they count their inventory? Have they no computers? Are they not aware that their customers have needs? ARE THEY DOING THIS JUST TO TORTURE ME??

I will be on the next plane back to Bangkok.

We all *wants* the chocolate every now and then my dear… How are you?

Some study or other recently found yet another health benefit to eating dark chocolate (8 ounces a day) over a placebo. Although how they managed to convice the trial participants that the placebo was actually chocolate I’ll never guess. Perhaps they told the subjects that the chocolate was a placebo and the placebo was a wonderdrug. I can’t quite remember what the health benefit was, perhaps it was improved circulation or something like that. Anyway, it doesn’t matter. Only the bittersweet stuff, you understand.

Bitter is better anyway! And it contains much less fat and sugar.

I am wondering, if, at the point SF concludes he cannot control his chocolate problem, he will be able to provide daily updates to his blog from rehab. This could be a major issue.

    Hi,

    I’m coming to Thailand soon.

In what way can this be of any interest to you, you might ask.

AHAH!! I live in chocolate country, Belgium. And I would be more then happy to bring you some.

But I have a rather urgent question. I’ve been reading your blog with full interest all day during working hours… and was wondering about the VISA runs. I’ve heared it’s not possible anymore. Is this true. I would really like to chat, mail or talk to you about this subject, hope you’re willing too.

The bribe after all being Chocolate, wonderfull glorious Belgian chocolate, sweet and tender tantalizing chocolate… Am I overdoing this??? LOL

    Hi Wouter

That’s the best (and only) bribe attempt so far. The Thai visa situation is complex and I recommend you read about it on thaivisa.com.

    Good luck
