Christmas in Thailand

Santa Claus
Bangkok next week

Yesterday I should have been back in Farangland if I had used my airline ticket. I am glad I didn’t go. I may have miffed some family members but that can’t be helped.

I could not face two and a half weeks in Farangland with bad weather and nothing to do. I will try to go back for next Christmas, but for a week only. That’s enough.

I was looking at plastic Christmas trees in Silom Complex yesterday. They have a good selection. They also have high-tech lights that will make you dizzy by rotating, flashing, dimming and do all sorts of tricks.

Chalerm read my mind (or maybe my huffing and humming) and the Prince of Khon Kaen suddenly moved out to stay with an “older sister”. I was spared the scene of evicting him. The Prince still drops by nearly every day and wai’s me deeper than ever.

This will be the first Christmas I spend with Chalerm in Bangkok. Chalerm is curious about what we will do. He likes the idea of gifts – both to give and receive. I received a present by air mail and he was exited about it. Chalerm also wants to decorate the tree.

To get in the mood I have downloaded Xmas songs from the Internet. I’m dreaming of a white Christmas. Let it snow! Let it snow!

I’m jealous of you and your lifesytle, think of us poor farangs here in the cold trying to save enough money to make the dream come true, its almost like a Christmas tale.
Is it true that a return ticket from Bangkok to London will cost approx. double of a return from London to Bangkok?

    Hi Andy.

The blog is called “The good life in Bangkok” and I can’t complain.

I don’t think price difference between buying a ticket in London and in Bangkok is as great as double.

Have you ever bought one? A thai guy told me about it, maybe he exagerated about double but it seems like its significantly more.

My impression is that prices can be a bit lower in Bangkok. Maybe our readers know more?

Good decision to stay in LOS! The weather turned cool suddenly. I’m actually shivering in the morning and not arriving at the office drenched in sweat! Great weather to walk around town admiring the Christmas deco everywhere.

It Is getting chill here in BKK all of the sudden. I like it when I went to bed and hate it when I have to take shower…
