Still hope?
This morning I found four clean and ironed shirts in the kitchen. Who had made them?
Either Chalerm had been home, or (more likely) he had asked the maid to do it. Either way it shows he cares.
My visa stamp has expired and I must leave Thailand again. Malaysia is waiting, hopefully with arms open. I don’t mind leaving wet Bangkok for a while. It has been raining Siamese cats and dogs.
Chalerm says he doesn’t need money but I will leave some for him anyway. I will put his allowance and dentist money inside the book we use for this purpose. The Thai building staff would never open a book.
I leave the aquarium fish and the turtles to the maid. She knows more about how to feed them than I do.
I am busy scanning shirtless Thai boy pictures to keep the blog running while I am away from the uber-Mac.

I’m glad that there are signs of reconciliation.
But stand your ground. If Chalerm doesn’t return to work I reckon his inevitable boredom will make things worse for both of you. If he doesn’t like his current job, get him to find a new one - even if it doesn’t pay as well - just as long as it keeps him occupied.
