Chalerm was talkative on the phone yesterday.

I had told him to look next to the computer in our home for a missing credit card. My last act before leaving Thailand had been to book a trip from Thailand to Malaysia on the Internet, to use as proof that I have an onward air ticket when I return to Bangkok, and I had forgotten the card.

Chalerm found the card and joked that he had been to Central and spent a fortune shopping at my expense already.

Chalerm has written a petition asking me to return to Bangkok as soon as possible. Apart from Chalerm it is signed by the ladyboy-in-training, Black Boy, the jealous-possessive brother of the owner of the Internet cafe, Lizzard Boy and various other stakeholders.

Chalerm called me when I was in a shopping centre and wondered when he would get to hear the birds. Last time I was in Farangland he had heard the birds sing in the background when I was in the countryside.
