Gay Thailand diary - new and old aquarium

gay-boy-diary.jpg

The maid surprised me by coming in at 9pm, carrying a large garden hose.

Chalerm had asked her to help him with the aquarium. The new aquarium is too large for him to empty by carrying it to the kitchen when he needs to change the water. Instead they used the hose and the siphon method. Chalerm stood by the fish tank while the maid was out on the balcony sucking dirty fish water.

Surprise #2 was when the maid came with a used aquarium. Chalerm put ours aside. It was only two weeks since he bought it.

I told Chalerm I wanted him to consult me before he did any changes like this in the apartment.
- But you never clean, said Chalerm.
- That’s because it is your job.
- So up to me if I want new fish or if I want change tank, said Chalerm.

The maid’s aquarium was smaller and taller. It looked good and I didn’t mind the change. I only wish someone had told me about this plan before the maid and boyfriend team set wheels in motion. I want to be consulted. This was OK but what if they had hatched some harebrained scheme? Then I would have had to cause a scene to stop them.

I hope the maid doesn’t expect overtime pay for this. I forgot to ask if Chalerm had paid her for the used aquarium. I assumed it was hers. Who will get our newer, bigger fish tank? The maid? Cousin When? The Prince of Khon Kaen? Since Chalerm runs this on a need-to-know basis I don’t expect to be consulted.

I hope he added a chlorine remover. Tetra Aqua is the best. Also, you need to cycle a new tank with bacteria to convert amonia to NH3 to NH2. Then remove NH2 by water changes.

Thanks for the advice. I used Tetra Aqua when I had an aquarium in Farangland. I will look in the shops if they have it here.

It’s at Chatuchak weekend market. Several of the vendors have it, you have to search and compair. They have all the Tetra products but few of the very good Seachem line. Lots of local and Chinese stuff too.

The vendors have been moving around and are not in the exact same spot. They are in the same general area but not easy to navigate around.

Aquarimus are very popular in Bangkok.
