I don’t understand how this could happen, but suddenly I have no clean underpants. Actually I have no underwear at all.
I have asked Chalerm several times where he put them. But he says he doesn’t have any of my undies, clean or used. He says I must have them. I have looked in all the obvious underpants places, but they are not there. I have also looked in the washing machine and around it, and in the piles of clothes that Chalerm keeps. No underpants.
Who stole them? Admittedly I have thrown a few in the trash lately. They wear out quickly, not because I am such a demanding wearer but because the washing machine is munching them to pieces.
Go and buy some new ones, you say? It is not that easy. Getting large enough undies in Bangkok is even harder than getting large enough shoes. The undies I have are smuggled in from farangland. I bought six when I was home last June, and another six last Christmas. I should have a dozen or more. Where did they go?
Desperate measures for desperate times. I have pressed my boxer shorts into service as undies. Next I will have to go to one of those “export” shops that have large sizes, or at least they always insist they have large enough sizes even if they don’t fit when I put them on at home.

Ahh, yes the Farang underwear conundrum for those living in Thailand, I know it well. Maybe you can go to one of those Indian tailors and get some made to size.

There used to be a menswear outlet on Silom Rd. between O’Reilly’s and Sala Daeng (heading to Robinsons) sold reasonable euro quality underpants in (errrr) large medium sizes. Very reasonable prices by Farang standards.
It was there last July but no guarantees now!
