Queens in Reykjavik
Bored with tropical boys? The annual Iceland Gay Pride Parade is underway as I write this. It looks like a lot of the 300,000 inhabitants of the island show up at this event. Maybe they want to see if the neighbour has come out of his closet yet.

I have two friends who have been to the Pride celebration in Reykjavik the last three years. They stopped there on the way from the U.S. to Europe one year and were completely captivated by the place and the parade festivities. Indeed it is much, much more than just the gay boys showing up to watch the floats roll by. They said it seemed like every city inhabitant poured out into the streets to enjoy the skin, music, dancing beauties, and the beaming summer sun.

I spent a year in Iceland in 1996 stationed at the now closed US military base. We would beg/borrow/steal:) any transportation into Reykjavik to visit the only (1) bar that was GAY….sure miss that place, them blond blue eyed boys were so so yummy, and they loved us Military boys
… miss you Aknar. Anyway, Iceland was so open and no judgmental. Everyone please visit if you can you will be amazed…not in Dec or Jan…Jun is best

Im Norwegian and we hunt whales too.
Delicios meat and we see no harm in killing a few whales as long as the population is good.
So get over it . You should be more worried about Thais killing and eating dogs…

There used to be a wonderful legend about Iceland, to the effect that the nasty Vikings raided Europe and kidnapped pretty girls — and stashed the very prettiest girls in Iceland, where nobody else could find them.
Of course, rumor has it that pretty girls produce very fetching boy-children!
Only a legend, I guess. Although the picture of “Handsome Icelander” has got me wondering again….
