Living in Thailand 49% and in Malaysia 51%

Malaysia

My boyfriend is on his best behaviour. Actually he is overdoing it. I think he is uncertain because of my Malaysia trip.

I am uncertain too. I woke up at 4am wondering what I was getting into. Going to Malaysia for two weeks? What about my friends in Bangkok? What about Chalerm? What about the blog? What about this and what about that?

Should I force myself to Laos instead and humbly apply for another visa from The Great Thai Immigration, Keepers Of Infinite Wisdom And Eternal Truth?

Just thinking about Thai Immigration made me enter stubborn mode again. Enough is enough. You will not find me waiting in line with the Nigerian mafia in Vientiane anytime soon.

I have seen books with titles like: “Learn to live and prosper with uncertainty”, and “Change management - the constant revolution”. I could need one of those books now. I don’t know how my life will turn out from one week to the next. According to management consultants this is a good thing.

- I want visit you Malaysia, said Chalerm.
- Do you have money?
- Maybe have. What to see Malaysia? asked Chalerm.
- Nice people, I said.
- Only this?
- Beautiful landscape?
- I think Singapore better, said Chalerm.

Note to self: Calm down. It is only for two weeks. It is an experiment.

My motivation goes up and down. When I am in Bangkok I feel like remaining in Bangkok. I don’t feel like going anywhere else. But when I am in Malaysia I feel like remaining there too, thinking life is fine in the Malaysian Federation and to hell with Thai Immigration.

Now I am in Thailand, which means that the determination I felt when I was in Malaysia somehow has faded. I haven’t done anything more to find a cheaper apartment to free up money for the Malaysia plan. I let myself drift.

But I have put in an heroic twenty minutes a day learning Malay. I look forward to trying it on the local boys.

51% Malaysia and 49% Thailand? Wow. Malaysia is a best country to live for those who have retired from work. Especially, in Penang. There’s lot of retired expats living over there. Well, Thailand is a best tourist destination. There’s hardly anything in Kota Bharu. Go to Penang or all the way down to KL instead. :) By the way, enjoy your trip.

The good thing is that you will have a bolt hole in KL when the shit hits the fan here and there is blood running down the gutters in Silom. Won’t be long I think.
As for me well the job keeps me here until I am recalled or run screaming to the airport with a tank following the taxi.
