I went to the reception Saturday afternoon. This is usually a quiet time in the office, but for once they appeared busy. The receptionist was not there. Instead a new woman sat in her chair. Tension was high when I entered the building office in the morning. I had not found my neighbour Farang S, who was supposed to be back from a trip to the UK. Maybe he had stayed longer. So I went to the office alone. All eyes were on me. All eyes except those of the receptionist.

It was just a phase
I moved to Bangkok because of the community spirit here. In this city people know their neighbours, everyone says hello to everyone else, and people care. It is much better than in the socially cold, distant Farangland where everyone keep to themselves.
