A kathoey gang in Chiang Mai has only confirmed that stereotype after they were caught stealing from drunken drivers parked along the side of the road.

However, they did not just steal - they also gave their male victims a small thank you. One sucked his little bird, to borrow the Thai slang, as an expression of thanks for the items they were about to take.

If the car was unlocked, they would invite themselves in.

Police, who extracted a confession, said the ‘kathoey kwai gang’, as they are known, performed this trick at least 40 times. Police tracked them down after a motorist who lost a gold chain, cellphone and B5000 cash to the thieves laid a complaint.
