Hard times

I read in the Financial Times that the independent art movie industry in California is suffering.

Sales of their videos are falling fast as customers turn to the web for entertainment. On the web people might get onnly two or three minutes of free video, but this is enough to satisfy them without further need for plot or character development.
I see a 30% annual fall in video sales mentioned, and predictions that many studios (a grand name for two guys and a video recorder) will go out of business.

I haven’t seen the male-male part of the industry mentioned specifically. But is there any reason to think it is different from the breeder segment?
