Boys in the night

I walked past groups of rough boys at 2am the night after the Malaysian Independence Day. Some of them said hello or wanted to talk to me, but I only said hello and waved and kept walking. They were illegal Philippinos and Indonesians, mainly, and they had an agressive appearance with many of them dressed in quasi-military clothes.

Malaysian gossip

gay-boy-diary.jpg

I sat with the fish monger while he commented boys that walked past in the town market. That’s a good one, that one is handsome, that one is crazy.

Shy boys

gay-boy-diary.jpg

I asked the sales boy in the market, the flirty one I had used my gaydar on, if he would like to join me at my hotel for a cup of tea, biscuits and a discussion about the state of the world.

Gay Malaysia

gay-boy-diary.jpg

Friendship can be such a fragile thing. The boy who invited himself to free beer at my expense in a karaoke bar doesn’t know me anymore. He came towards me on a bike in a narrow street and stopped, but didn’t say hello. He did say hello to everyone else.

I cried myself to sleep over him. (Not really).

Tropical fruits

gay-boy-diary.jpg

Today I will write about the giant turtles in the nature reserve. Just kidding. It will be about Asian boys as usual.

Meet the locals

gay-boy-diary.jpg

Remember my five minute friend? He was the one who said I should go ahead to my hotel and he would come in five minutes. He didn’t show up.

I met him on the street three days later. He offered no explanation to why he changed his mind, and I didn’t ask. But I foolishly told him that if he wanted a cup of tea the offer still stood. He accepted. This time he would be with me in ten minutes.

What do you want to hear about? More about the temples or another smut report? I thought so. Here comes the sleaze update.

Sandakan by day

proboscis_monkey.jpg
No have

I don’t have any photos of the monkeys with the red noses. They are out in the wild and only if I go on a boat trip in the jungle I might get a glimpse of them around sunset, when they are most active.

Sandakan gay boys

gay-boy-diary.jpg

I met a young man outside a supermarket today. He wore a singlet-ish white shirt made of a fishnet-like material. His arms and shoulders were exposed and I could see his nipples through the fabric. He also had a gold chain, a fashionable hairdo, a pretty face and an athletic build.

Sandakan trip 2

gay-boy-diary.jpg

I met a handsome young man on a street corner in Kota Kinabalu. At first there were two, but soon it was only one. He spoke to me in Malay and tried to make me follow him to somewhere.

Sandakan crime watch

gay-boy-diary.jpg

I went for a walk in Sandakan city as the sun set. I took pictures by the harbour and said hello to people.

I bought a water bottle and sat down to rest and drink. Families were nearby, some selling food, some selling smuggled cigarettes. The young ones came to me and practiced their simple English on me. It was usually only “What is your name?” and “Where are you from?

Sandakan plan

Friendly locals?

I have this Sandakan plan. Sandakan? It is a city in Borneo. I am still fascinated by the island and I want to go back and see more.
