Sunee Plaza

Reading about the shooting in Sunee Plaza I wanted to see a map of this (in)famous gay area in Pattaya. This one is good and it looks up to date. It is written in Foreignish but this is all the German vocabulary you need to read it:

Empfehlung = recommended (in yellow letters)
Geschlossen = closed (in red letters)

Other establishments are in black. The stars given should be self-explanatory.

I haven’t been to Pattaya for ages. The boys there must miss me. But I wonder about one establishment. This is a pizza restaurant in Sunee Plaza.

Since it could get messy with each bar having its own spirit house outside the door they have one central spirit house in Sunnee Plaza. It is for the spirits of the land… Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the figure inside is Phra Prom, the same Hindu god of creation which is in the now destroyed Erawan Shrine in Bangkok.

I have blurred parts of the picture to protect the guilty. The farang on the left side, for example, is clearly up to something.

Since I was in Sunnee Plaza in December drinks in the go-go bars have gone up from 100 to 150 baht. A soda at one of the outdoors restaurants in the soi is up from 30 to 40 B. (Disclaimer: I haven’t been to every bar to check.)
