Money laundry
Sunday evening I gave Chalerm 2000 baht. This was his allowance for the week.
Chalerm put the money in his short pants. On Monday, he put the short pants in the washing machine.
On Tuesday, Chalerm came with a sheepish smile and asked for 200 baht so he could buy some food. I gave him 300. The extra 100 was for a screw-up well done.

My computer repair saga continues. After one week where they every day said “tomorow”, I went to the shop to take the Macintosh back. But it wasn’t there anymore. The ladies said they had sent it to a repair centre somewhere. I gave up and left them to their devices.

On a 1-10 Annoyance Scale our houseguests are climbing to around 3-4. The Air Force cousin lives grandly with us, and so does the Air Force Buddy and The Prince of Khon Kaen.
By the time they reach 7-8 on the scale I will kick them out, but only after complaining at lenght in the blog first.
I wish these people would understand the Western concept of a visit, as opposed to moving in. According to Chalerm our hospitality must be unconditional. There can be no time limits and no hints that they have outstayed their welcome.
How would a Thai host do it? Would he put them to work scrubbing the floors? Would he demand sexual favours?
I toy with the idea of sending The Prince of Khon Kaen to Silom to pay for our Internet. But I imagine he would make such fuss out of it, not knowing what to do, insisting someone came with him, calling back several times to ask for directions and so on. It would hardly be worth it.

I would resort back to my suggestion of walking around in old torn up white boxers .. and sort of make farting noise with your arm pits;) haahaa

Did you see the washed pieces of money? I thought you said the Prince of Khon Kaen did the laundry yesterday did he “check” the pockets?

Hmmm…If I was you, and the Prince was a more-or-less cute brown Issan boy, I’d resort to sitting beside him on the couch when he’s lapping up your TV, and stroking his neck-hairs while telling him he really is quite beautiful, and should not be afraid to exploit it… ;P Depending on his nature that will either get rid of him for good, or render him …um, useful!

the quickest way to run off unwanted visitors is either work or physical advances….or even better yet BOTH!
