Thaksin in Manchester

thaksin.jpg
Bad idea

Former Thailand PM and billionaire Thaksin is in the news.
He wants the players in his football club Manchester City to “wai” him at the games, probably to impress television viewers back in Thailand. The players refuse. They hardly lower their heads for the Queen of England, much less for some Asian guy with a funny accent.

As I expected the British press is reporting tension betwen Thaksin and the locals, who think he is an eccentric dictator. How long will it take Thaksin to piss everyone off and ruin the club?

Thaksin forgets he is in Farangland now. If he keeps going like this rather than deep bows he should watch for rotten tomatoes.

  1. Svenalike.co.uk Says:

Sven-Goran Eriksson is acclaimed as “the worlds greatest soccer coach manager” and after providing MCFC with it’s most successful season in 30 years, he was set to repeat his Lazio record to fill the club’s trophy cabinet over the next few years.
Sven (and his team) bow to no man and he is much sought after by other clubs to take to glory if Dr Shinawatra thinks he and/or another manager can match Sven’s talent.
England crashed when Sven quit and Manchester City may well do the same……..

You know that Police Lt. Taksin is right, he always was right and always will be right - about everything. How can you dare to hint that our former Dear Leader could possibly be wrong.

  3. Rob Says:

I’m from England and Svenalike summed it up perfectly, they are lucky to have Sven.

  4. Silom Farang Says:

Are they lucky to have Thaksin?

Someone should have told Thaksin that Manchester is not the place to go to if you’re looking for uncritical reverence - not unless you’re a player in Coronation Street :-)
