I received a handwritten letter from the management of The Mansion. They wrote that they would like to see me about “the recent incident”.
What recent incident? Chalerm!
- Incident? Nothing happen, said Chalerm.
- What was going on while I was away?
- Not happen, said Chalerm.
But having thought about it Chalerm came back and told me the following: Chalerm had met a boy in the soi and invited him home. The two planned to go shopping together. While Chalerm was in the loo the boy had made off with a mobile phone.
Chalerm went to the office and asked to see the recordings from the half a dozen security cameras this building has. Buidling staff gave him a DVD but the recording was too blurred to see the face of the thief.
- You must be careful if you take friend home, said Chalerm.
- I think the manager is worried about the people YOU take home, I said.
- So maybe they want speak you about this and security guard, said Chalerm.
When I spent 24 hours in Bangkok recently between going to Malaysia and Farangland the building manger had asked me in the lift if Chalerm would stay here when I was away. I think she is worried about the comings and goings when Chalerm is home alone. I am worried too, but I had hoped Chalerm had outgrown this sort of problems.
I will go to the office tomorrow and hear what they have to say. I dread this. I feel like a parent being held responsible for what my kid has done at school.

On the plus side, surely Charlem must be on his best behaviour after this incident?

So he met a boy in the soi. Was that boy a stranger?
And he invited him home. Hmm, was that boy a stranger?
Then he went to the loo and got robbed of his mobile phone by this nice new boy in the soi?
Have I got that right?
If so, Chalerm was out tom-catting and got ripped off, is what it sounds like to me!

I don’t see any “plus side” on this “recent incident.”

Yup.

Very amusing, I was laughing before I read beyond the intro….. Naughty Chalerm! But if the soi boy was cute can you blame him? Put the yellow pages down the back of your pants before you meet the Mansion management. Devlin XXXX

For God’s sake all you bleeding hearts, if this story is accurate Chalerm does not need any bloody sympathy he is an immature kid in his 20s and you SF have turned him into an indulged and spoiled brat. Of course he may well be ‘punishing’ you for leaving him alone for a few days. Now that is spiteful and immature.
It will end in tears - get rid of him now.

Thai’s need to know basis avoids many confrontations. Chalerm applied that to you.
