Welcome (again)

It is now 48 hours since my web site crashed. I am waiting for a response from Yahoo Web Hosting to see if I can get it back. Meanwhile, life goes on and I am starting over again.

What else is happening?

1. I had another argument with Chalerm over the laundry since his improvement lasted only a couple of days. This time he reminded me about how nice he had been to do the laundry and clean the house after I had to fire our previous (increasingly lazy) maid. That was not a smart thing to bring up, as his performance had become gradually worse, the house dirtier and the dirty laundry pile higher, until I hired a new maid.

2. It is raining in Bangkok. The taxi drivers are desperate and stalk me up and down the soi. Entertainment venues are closed - except Super A, which I walked by on my way home (yes, quite by accident). The usual guy stood there and said they were open. I did not go in.

3. The new game in town is to guess who prime minister Thaksin meant when he said a charismatic person with powers outside of the constitution is plotting against him. The actual word he used was “bramin” powers, which from the sound of it must mean god-given, divine, superior. (Disclaimer: I am not a speaker of Pali). Who has a divine position in Thailand? Hush! Don’t say it out loud.

    Hi Silom:
Just to let you know that you were missed!!!
Glad you’re back. This blog is my ongoing reminder of the joys/challenges/excitement of living in LOS which I plan to do. Thanks again for my daily “fix” and I look forward, as always, to your adventures, your camerawork, your observations, your wit and your ability to make it all endlessly interesting.
    All the best

Hey, glad you’re back up online….I would say
if the Thai PM even illuded to HRH publicly only
reflects badly on his state of mind….he needs
a good Thai massage, by Thai boy…. :-) ..trying
to blame others for where you are by choices
made in the past will not do…..
