Oops!
I have a bad feeling about Nemo and the saltwater aquarium project.
Yesterday I sent some text messages to Chalerm to hear how he was, but the replies were short and tense. Smelling a rat, I asked how the fish were. No reply.
Several hours passed. I sent him an electronic hug and received an instant “thanks”.
Today Chalerm called to speak to me but he didn’t mention the aquarium. I didn’t ask.

Consider “Terrariums are wonderful, magical environments. Decorative, attractive, and easy to care for, just plant and forget. Because terrariums recycle their moisture, they need very little attention. A closed terrarium can often go a month or more between watering. They actually thrive on neglect! Now even people who tend to neglect plants can develop a “Green Thumb”.
Maybe I will trade in my partner for a Terrarium. Cheaper than the 10000 baht allowance a month but probably not as exciting.

have been following this little clownfish aka “nemo” saga for quite a bit and i think it’s time i say a few things.
the movie “little nemo “has led to many people thinking that clowhfish has the potential to be great aquarium fish.
this has led to many MANY clownfish being wrenched away from their coral reef habitats by entrepreneurs who want to make that quick buck. if this trend were to continue worldwide, the number of clownfish in the wild could take a sharp dip.
a decline in the number of clownfish in the wild could cause the delicate balance in nature to go awry- leading to bigger problems in the future. (like the “butterfly effect”)
what makes this saga more tragic is that most of the clownfish that people try to rear in thier homes die quick deaths cos hell- saltwater aquariums are NOT EASY to maintain. they require lots of dedication to upkeep.
in the first place, my friend, you should learn to say “no” to your partner. one might think he’s getting spoilt, if he isnt already. cheerio!

Sorry to hear about your visa being rejected in Penang. Although I cannot make any useful suggestions right now, I think you are aware of the ease of getting a Non-O at Hull (I think you are a Brit). Of course that means a quick trip back home which may not be convenient. Anyway, wish you god luck!

Clownfish, premnas biaculeatus, have now sucessfully been breed in capitavity and those do better than the reef caught ones. I often see them at Chatuhak for between 200 to 400B. I have no idea if they are tank raised or caught.
